Turkey Sloppy Joes

These sweet and zesty turkey Sloppy joes are so yummy. From start to finish they are done in 30 minutes making them a perfect quick and easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tbs. Olive oil
  • 1/3 cup onion, diced small
  • 1/3 cup red bell pepper, diced small
  • 1/3 cup green bell pepper, diced small
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 tsp. fine sea salt
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbs. dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 Tbs. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Tbs tomato paste
  • 1 Tbs. ketchup
  • 2 Tbs. brown sugar
  • 4 Potato buns

Method
 

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.
  2. Add the onions and bell peppers to the hot oil and cook for about 3-4 minutes until translucent, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the garlic and cook for another minute or so until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  4. Add the ground turkey and break it up with a spoon or spatula. Stir the turkey and vegetables together.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the salt, smoked paprika, chili powder, brown sugar, dijon mustard, worcestershire sauce, tomato paste and ketchup. Stir until everything is well combined.
  7. Reduce the heat under the skillet to low and add a lid.
    Cook for another 4-5 minutes.
